Man.  The more I look at the 992, the more I don’t like it.  I haven’t felt this way about a 911 since the 996.

Don’t see anything that stands out in a bad way to me or even stands out a lot vs the 991 , even the new taillights. This link has a very helpful sliding side by side view feature:

To my eye, here are its faults:

+ New taillight treatment makes the rear end look extremely bulbous.
+ New third/ high brake light design just doesn’t look good to me
+ Engine cover and spoiler design limit essentially ensure you’ll never see the engine from above
+ Frunk design doesn’t flow with the rest of car, with the squared leading edges
+ Headlights appear pushed outward a bit, working with the frunk design to give a bug-eyed appearance.

But, I can’t afford a new one anyway, so I’m totally not their market :).

I watched Chris Harris’s (Top Gear) review and think he summed it up well. The 992 is more of a substantial refresh than a complete redesign. The 991 was a great generation and this improves on it. Can’t wait to see what they do with the GT series versions.

The headlights do look wide; and the grill isn’t helping that perception I don’t think.

I just question why the SportDesign package which is much better looking isn’t standard but instead a €4k option

I like it except for that huge bumper area below the taillights , which really sticks out with lighter colors.

But, e asily remedied with the $5,000 Sport Design package which moves the plate up and breaks up the rear a bit.

The narrow body 996.1 isn’t one of my favorites , but I still think t he 996.2 C4S is one of the best looking 911s...especially the rear. And the very unique refreshed headlights add a bit of rarity to it.  It always worked for me.
